Postcard for Dad

I am really excited about this postcard I made my Dad.  I've been thinking about making it for a very long time.  Well, on a recent visit to see my Aunt, I picked up some metallic watercolors from an art store and it all came together.  I hope you like it.

Here, you can see how shiny the embossing and paint are:

And here, you can see the beautiful colors:

Even Freaks Need Love

And I mean that in the nicest way possible as I consider myself a total freak!  I started going to a book club a couple of months ago.  (Ok, I've only made it to the meeting once so far, but they still invite me.)  The meetings are held at book club members' homes.  The time I went we met at the home of this really nice lady, Amber.  Amber also happens to be a bit of a freak.  I think she would agree with me there.  She collects Living Dead Dolls and all things Nightmare Before Christmas which are prominently displayed in her livingroom.

So when I started to make Amber a thank you card (from one freak to another) I knew it had to be special.  I hope you enjoy it too:

Hang In There Friends

It's been a tough summer for so many people I know.  I have friends and family members going through chemo.  Some looking for work with families to take care of.  I've even had my own pretty serious issues this summer.  So, I decided to make a couple of cards to let some special people know that they aren't alone.

I did two versions of this card.  One version is colored with a white water-coloring pencil.  The other was done with white cardstock and the paper-piecing technique.  I think I like the paper pieced one the best.  It's got such a sharp, clean look.  What do you think?

This is a cute little stamp my friend, Jessica, gave me.  I use it on the back of most of my cards.

Thanks for looking.  Now, go create something!

PS.  The large focal stamp is from Penny Black.  I just love her style!
