All Occasions Card Set

This week, I wanted to make a set of cards using my Mindscapes stamp set by Inkadinkado.  I really like this set because each image is formed with other images inside it.  You'll see what I mean when you see the close-ups. Here is the group:

This first card is a ladybug, but if you look closely, you can see that there is a dragonfly in the center of the ladybug's body.

The next card features a butterfly, but again there is a surprise if you look closely.  Fairies!

The last of the cards showcases a hummingbird image.  Look closely, the hummingbird contains  butterflies.

There is one last image that I didn't take a close-up of.  That is the dragonfly, but you can see it closer if you click on the group picture to open a larger version.   Tell me if you can find what other animal makes up the dragonfly and you could win some blog candy!

These cards were inspired by a special issue of Papercrafts Magazine.

Sympathy for a Friend

This is a card I made for a good friend who just lost her mother.  I wanted to make her a special card to let her know I am thinking of her and her family.

In order to get the watercolor look I wanted, I colored the rubber stamp with watercolor crayons and then used an aqua painter to add some water to the stamp.  Then, I just stamped my image.  The grass is just stamped with regular Stampin' Up ink.  Both images are stamped on watercolor paper.

I love this look!  I hope it makes my friend feel loved.

All supplies Stampin Up except for watercolor paper.

A Little Sunshine

My girlfriend, Claire, lives in England.  I met her while I was on a Disney Cruise.  (Don't get me started talking about how wonderful those cruises are!) When I asked her if there was something I could send her from The States that she was missing, she told me some sunshine.  Well, since I can't box up sunshine, I decided to send her some wonderful peach preserves my friend, Phyllis, made and a box of fruit-themed cards:

To make these cards I used some retired Stampin' Up! products.  For the tag on the preserves, I used a wonderful Waltzingmouse stamp set and Spellbinders die.

Monarch Birthdays

November is a month full of birthdays in my family.  Two of those birthdays are for very special women.  I wanted to make them a card that would show them how much I love them.  So, I made this card:

Here is a close up of the butterfly:

I achieved the monarch look by using a sponge and an inkpad.  It was really easy to blend the three colors to make my butterfly look more life-like.

I hope you love the way the card came out.  I sure do.

Just One Bite

Happy Halloween!!  This adorable box is a gift from my friend Elizabeth.  I sent her the spooky cameo and said, "make me something with it."  She took me at my word and gave me this:

If you fall in love with the cameo like I did, you can buy them on Etsy from Snapcrafty.

Doggie Thank You

This is a card I made using My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up!.  It's a great program and this card only took me a few minutes.  I printed out the major part of the card, wrapped some ribbon around it and then mounted it on a plain white card.  So easy and I think it came out pretty good for my first one.  What do you think?

A Journal For A Journey

I made this journal for a family member who is suffering from Bi-Polar disorder and anxiety.  These issues are so challenging because people can't tell that the person affected is sick.  When you sneeze, everyone says, "Bless you."  But when you suffer (and you do suffer) from something that doesn't always show on the outside people can misunderstand what's going on with you.  And that can even make the anxiety worse.

So, I found this book called "5 Good Minutes."  I've been trying to use it myself as well as a journal to record my thoughts about each five minute practice in the book.  I really like it.  It gives you tools to help relax during your day that starts with a five minute practice session each morning.

When I send the book, I'm including this journal:

I made the butterflies with Stampin Up!'s Sizzix butterfly die and the Blush collection of paper from Basic Grey.  The definition paper, jewels and ribbon are also from Stampin' Up!.  Thanks for looking!
